Question by Attilio Brandi: What kind of low maintenance tropical fish would you recommend for a small 5 gallon aquarium?
I inherited a small 5 gallon “Eclipse” aquarium with water heater/filter included,the only problem I have is deciding what hardy tropical fish to purchase.It needs to be a hardy,low maintenance,colorful ,small in size.

seriously, wouldn’t it be awesome if you filled a 5 gallon fish tank with goldfish (at this point I am talking about real goldfish) There would be a huge mass of goldness. I can’t say that these are TROPICAL fish but it sure would be awesome.

I brought a 10 gallon fish tank for my office and i want to know what kind of tropical that i can buy to fit in the tank. I really don’t like very small fish. If you can provide me with a link that would be great.

Unfortunatly a 10gal tank does restrict your choice to fairly small fish.

But I would suggest getting either a Betta or a Dwarf Gourami, and a small group of Cory catfish.

I have a 40 gallon tank. I’m wondering what tropical fish go good together so there is no fighting. I would like bigger fish but I’m thinking of starting small first.

Angelfish are very beautiful fish I would say get at least two of them. Catfish are always neat two have as well. These fish get descent in size but will do good in a forty gallon, just keep an eye on the adult size of the catfish some get way too big. Good Luck.

Question by REALTexan: What kind of ornaments do tropical fish like in there aquarium?
I am going to get a bubble curtain today and 2 (or maybe 3) live plants. I have some fake coral and a rock like thing for decorations. I am going to add more gravel too. Also, do tropical fish like to play with any kind of ball or something? Like a ping-pong ball? Thanks for your help!
I have gouramis, angelfish, barbs, danios, ect…
I have a light and a filter aslo:)

they like rocks also it depends on the tropical fish you are getting if it’s cichlids they love rocks and sand
